HANĀ- Demons and Lies – Review

HANĀ

If you’re looking for your next beautifully crafted electro-pop anthem, look no further. HANĀ has opened the songwriting book, fitted a musical stent, and allowed for the maximum flow of piano, layered vocals and unparalleled lyrics to spill out onto the pages with her new track ‘Demons and Lies’.

Conforming to a synth-pop sound seems to be one of the easiest things a modern day artist can do, but with both her debut single ‘Traitors’ and now ‘Demons and Lies’, it is clear that although an influence, HANĀ hasn’t let her pop idols take over and consume her. Instead, she has used them as a platform to push herself upwards, and it is obvious she means business.

Originally playing more folk and country sounding material with a singer-songwriter vibe, HANĀ built a great basis for playing both piano and guitar, but since moving to Manchester, the music she produces has moved toward the sound we hear today. The lessons learnt early on, however, have not been forgotten, as it is the mixture of different past styles, paired along with her own flare, that gives off the signature musical accent that we hope will stay with the release of new tracks in the future. HANĀ is definitely one to watch.
